Introducing Lindy Zillman

Lindy has had a very varied career including education, counselling, law, professional development facilitator and these days as a Lived Experience Advocate in the area of Suicide Prevention. Currently she works in a number of roles within the Roses in the Ocean organisation, which is one of the leading organisations promoting and supporting the voice of Lived Experience in the area of suicide prevention and post vention. These roles include facilitating Roses in the Ocean workshops and reviewing various training materials for training organisations wishing to understand and develop material which includes a Lived Experience lens of Suicide.

Lindy has sat on a number of Lived Experience Advisory Groups and has been actively involved in Towards Zero Suicide implementation with her in her local health district having sat on the towards Zero Suicide Steering Committee. She has been involved in the establishment of their Safe Haven as part of the NSW Ministry of Health initiatives. Lindy has worked as part of the Wayback service as a LE volunteer Peer Care Companion and currently mentors Peer Workers.
